About Me

Hello world! My name is Laurent Reyes and I am currently a senior at Stevens Institute of Technology. My major is Quantitative Finance with a concentration in Finance. From my major, I have been able to be exposed in depth to the fields of statistics, computer science, and finance. Specifically, I have gained valuable experience in financial data analysis, where I use Excel, Python, and R to do a variety of tasks such as calculating future stock prices, portfolio returns, and expected volatility. Outside of Stevens, last summer I worked in an sales internship for a startup company that allowed me to gain better communication skills and CRM data management skills. As of summer 2024, I have just earned my COMPTIA Security+ Certification, and now I am currently working on projects relating to mySQL and Tableau so I can gain enough knowledge to take the Tableau Certified Data Analyst Exam during the fall (wish me luck!).

As for my personal interests, I enjoy learning about history, geography, and anthropology, aka I enjoy researching in depth historical figures, places, and events. As a result I also enjoy traveling in order to see all these topics I've learned about. Besides this, I also enjoy weighlifting and running, where my current goals are to bench press 255 pounds at 140 pound body weight along with trying to run a 6:30 mile. Lastly, I enjoy eating, with my top 3 favorite cuisines being Mexican, Vietnamese, and Chinese in no particular order along with watching anime.
